Born at Aramoko, (Ekiti State) on 24th of November, 1933.

Attended St. Philips School, Aramoko (1940-45) For Standard IV Primary.

Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti (1946-51) for Cambridge School Certificate.

Attended Nigerian College of Tech., Ibadan (1954-56) for Pre-Professional Studies.

Nigerian College of Tech. (now A.B.U) Zaira (1957-61). Inter. R.I.B.A., & D. Arch., R.I.B.A (Part II)

Graduated in 1961 as one of the first 4 Architects produced in West Africa with R.I.B.A Finals

After Pupilage and Professional practice exam, got full Membership of the Royal Institution of British Architects (A.R.I.B.A) in 1963 & M.N.I.A. IN 1964.

Dip Post-Graduate course in London at the A-A School of Tropical Studies (1964-65) on Commonwealth Scholarship.

Elected Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Architects (F.N.I.A.) & Member of Commonwealth Association of Architects (M.C.A.A).

Attended the Defence Policy & strategic Course in Paris, as Perm Sect. (Special Duties) at Supreme Hqtrs. in 1977.

Attended a French Language course in Gronobles, France in 1977.

Attended the Brookins Institute for Chief Executive Course in Washington D.C.U.S.A., (as Federal Perm. Sect.) in 1978.

First Student to win the Atlas Award in Architecture in 1958 (Inter.R.I.B.A. exam).

First Ekiti-West citizen to be a Chartered Architect.

First Registrar of the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (A.R.C.O.N.).

First and only Nigerian Architect yet, to bag the National Honours of “Officer of the Federal Republic” of Nigeria (O.F.R) ON 30th Sept. 1979, after voluntary honourable retirement.

First and only Nigerian Architect yet to be appointed as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Concil of any Federal University, ( University of Port-Harcourt) 1990-93.

Family Tree:
Happily married.

Father of five children & Grand father of eight grand-children.

First married to late Mrs. Yemi Alade in December 1961, Who died on May 1, 1976.

She was the mother of his only five children, (3 Boys & 2 Girls) all now married, amongst them are Two Architects, one Lawyer, one Computer Analyst and the Last is a Medical Doctor (since1991) based in London.

Re-married on Oct. 23rd, 1993 to Mrs. L.B. Fola-Alade, herself a retired Fed. Perm. Sect. for many years.

HONORARY AWARDS

- The Daily Times Group’s Man of the year-1978 Award along with the late President Anwar Sadat of Egypt. Both of them bagged the award in Jan. 1978.

- Honorary Deputy Governor of the American Biographical Institute.

- Awarded Hon. D.Sc. (Arch) Honoris Causa by Albert Einstein University Foundation in 1986.

- Fellow of the International Biographical Association, Cambridge.(F.I.B.A)

- Awarded the much coveted Albert Einstein Gold Metal and decorated by the President of Malta, in Malta in July, 1987.

- Member of the Commonwealth Association of Architects (M.C.A.A.)
